Distasteful or no big deal?

"Oswald is part of Oak Cliff history. That is the only reason we did it. We didn't do it to offend anyone or anything like that," Avanti told KXAS-TV (NBC5).
Oswald lived in an apartment at 604 Elsbeth St. for a few months and then a boarding house at 1026 N. Beckley Ave., both in Oak Cliff. The Elsbeth apartment building was razed in January 2013; the Beckley house remains open for tours.

Well, that's messed up if you ask me.

I consider myself pretty familiar with Lee Harvey Oswald, watched a lot of documentaries, read a bit on the subject, etc.- and I would not have recognized that mural as being LHO.

Harvey was one of the gunmen. He was part of a larger group backed by Cia and mafia. About these facts there can be no question.

Yeah it is distasteful to say the least, and the defense is asinine.

Is George Hickey on the other wall?

First time in Dallas I took a wrong turn and ended up in Oakcliff. Yikes

So who do you think put him up to it? Castro?

It looks a little rapey to me.

I don't know why it would be distasteful to paint a mural of a mentally unstable veteran, who was used as a scapegoat for a government coordinated murder.

John Hinkley Jr. was from Highland Park, or at least lived there awhile. Maybe they can put up a mural also.

Alton, Illinois should do the same for James Earl Ray

Looks like a lot of the baws will need a safe space. I have no problem with it.

I thought about posting something similar considering it was a high profile assassination in the same time period, but I decided against it because I don't see any racial implications of this LHO mural and I didn't want to turn the thread in that direction.

Hey kids kill a president and be idolized with a mural.

If they can put up murals of Mike Brown and Sterling then why not good old Lee O.?
