The special they did on him staying in contact with Switzer and other coaches was a nice piece on Gameday this year.

Obviously the cop that arrested him originally should now be charged with his death.

Along with the NFL because head trauma.

Hell, football in general. Ban footballs! Or at least require background checks on all who attempt to buy one.

Had everything in world going for him but couldn't not be a thug. Can't blame anyone but himself.

Must post a picture for those of us who are unaware of what he contributed to society. I made sure to highlight his best accomplishment in life.

One of my favorites while with the Huskers. Was part of an offense that put up 666 yards against Saban at Michigan State and 629 against Spurriers Gators in the national championship, so I'm not going to let a few things like slapping around his old lady, driving over a basketball court in the park and mowing a few peeps down, and choking out his celly tarnish that.

Never heard of him until the 1996 Fiesta bowl Gator arse whipping, 62 - 24. I can still see him and Tommy Frazier destroying the Gator defense. 365 yds rushing between them. Tom Osborn mercifully had his backup QB take a knee at the goal line on the last play of the game. That 1995 Nebraska team was the best college football team ever assembled. Really sad Phillips was such a head case.

So both people in his two person cell are now dead. I guess he is also a person of interest in this one as well.
