The three totems of the terrorist attack are a 35,000-pound elevator motor, a 40,000-pound WTC parking structure column and a 40,000-pound TV North Tower antenna connector.

“Those of us that survived that day subsequently did weeks and months down there,” he said. “This is burned in our psyche. We will never forget this.” More than 2,500 9/11-related pieces have left Hangar 17.

Many went to the Sept. 11 museum and others were exhibited across the country, said Steve Coleman, Port Authority spokesperson.

I actually didn't know they were storing remnants. I figured everything had been disposed of by now.

There is a great 9/11 exhibit at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas.

Looks like they cut souvenir crosses and Jewish stars out of it? I wonder what that's about.

I watched a great documentary on Hanger 17 years back. Walked you through the story of many of the pieces. I have no shame in saying that my eyes watered up several times.

For the GW Bush library, they should have recreated the pile and put a megaphone on top. FWIW, he exhibited the qualities of a true POTUS that day. Our current admin should watch that tape five or ten times.
