Hey, I know there are various opportunities for people with Physics degrees, but do any of you on here know of anyone who found a decent job with their BS in Physics.
Please let me know.

A BS in physics doesn't seem to be all that good in the field, most people now goes towards masters at least with a good bit by passing and going towards Ph.D.
If you are interested, Vanderbilt has a great physics department to get some good research and work towards your doctorate.
Edit: I'm not in Physics, my brother has his Ph.D in it. This is what he told me when I was asking him before.

Yeah. I came to that conclusion in my late junior to senior year.
The only reason I did Physics was because at my school I really struggled with engineering weeder courses.
But I knew that I did not want to research and DEFINITELY did not want to be a teacher. I was really just stuck. I knew I had the mathematical knowledge...and I was just frustrated because I did not know what to do (ie another major at the time where my analytical ability could be used in a profession).

HA HA HA. Absolutely no. I was just curious to see if anyone knew of people who did well once they got their BS in Physics.
I go to Southern because I know it will add more to my skill set. And the Engineering degree will make it easier to get a job.
EDIT: This is not inherently a Southern University thread

It would be more funny if you said, "The Physics Degree".

Back in the early 2000s I worked at Los Alamos National Lab with many physicist. They all made a very good living but I also believe every one of them had a phd in physics.

WTF? Physics was easier than engineering? I can't even imagine this thought process. I'd love to see the look on an advisors face as someone said they were switching from engineering to physics because the entry level engineering was too hard.

Like I said. I never wanted education as a career, I would join the military before that.
And for the record, Physics Education degrees do exist. To be honest, most teachers DON'T have degrees in what they teach even at secondary school.

At LA Tech, the engineering is taught with more rigor than physics.
To be fair, the Physicist seem more interested in you learning the info. The engineering professors (a few of them ) are more concerned with weeding people. I have seen people in Junior level courses switch majors.
But you suffer for it since it's harder to finder jobs unless you have a PhD. That's why I decided if I'm going to get higher education I may as well go to a new place and do what makes me happy.
God blessed me, SU Engineering Grad Student. :)

Sorry, I think you need more than a BS. I know two people with physics degrees and both went on to get a PhD. One is a college professor (which you say you don't want to be) and the other works in nuclear medicine.

I probably should be more specific. I honestly am open to different options, but I just don't want to be In a high school/primary school setting.
To be fair...most of it stems from bad teen experiences. I also lack the patience to deal with children
