Did your dad whip you with a belt back in the day...?
Didn't get a lot, but when I got it, it was well deserved.
My dad had his own technique, always across the back of my legs.. shite hurt.
My biggest fear was hearing my dads belt whip through those loops on his work pants...
Lord only knows how I would've been if I didn't get those.

Dad with belt, mom with switch from tree. Poor tree ended up stripped of branches.

Dad with belt, mama with whatever was handy at the time. If it was summer and we had on shorts, that was usually a fly swatter to the legs.

Mom whipped for the small stuff. Dad whipped me for grades and sassing mom. Oh, and shoplifting when I was in 6th grade.

What I wouldn't give to see my daddy alive right now to thank him for every time he beat my little arse. He taught me right from wrong. He taught me about consequences for my actions and so much more! R.I.P dad! August 18th 1987.

Sometimes he would unbuckle it, and just let it hang in place... Like Eastwood in Good, Bad and the Ugly throwing his poncho around his back. Only thing missing was the background music.

Oh yeah...I wasn't a victim. I knew it at the time. I also knew how much I was getting away with.
Sometimes it was worth risking a whipping.

That’s what my mom would say. Whippings didn’t happen often, but it was always in the back of my mind and was a pretty good deterrent.

Dad mostly lectured. Mom beat with a belt. And her whippings were WAY worse than my dads. She went all in like a crazy woman. dad was mostly superficial in his swings.
That being said, if given the choice, I chose the whipping. Dad’s lectures sometimes went past an hour and made no sense.

Yep. Grew up getting the belt. I was about 12 when he whipped me and I just took it with no tears. He stopped after that and would just scold me which seemed worse.
