Finished at midnight last night.

And, regarding she had not been working on them previously, she does have other extra-curricular activities that she has to (and does) work around.

Normally, she's wrapped up no later than 7:30/8:00, but this was just a confluence of shite.

Just kidding. But really, for the most part homework is pointless. Just a way for teachers to work less during the day, then blame it on the parents when the kid is an idiot.
