My 23 year old wife and her group of friends, my little brother of the same age's friends, etc. Many of them couldn't name you the Beatles members if their life depended on it.

I'm around that generation plenty enough to be in tune with it. And i'm not knocking them. The Beatles just aren't relevant with current young generations. It's not an insult to them, just a fact.

Paul needs to hang it up. The dude sounds terrible in his old age.
I saw him twice in the last 4 years and he put on a great show each time. Unless he is lip synching he sounds fantastic for his age.
I've heard some recent P-Mac tracks. His voice is deeper and less powerful, but he's far from terrible.

But as for Bob Dylan's voice nowadays... Let's not even go there.

Yea, because knowing some old guy whose popularity peaked in the 60s is the epitome of knowledge.

To you. You're big into music, so you're looking at it in a vacuum.

I'd be willing to bet that, if that wasn't meant tongue in cheek, that rap fans in general, don't have very broad musical horizons.

Was there a class for music history I missed during school? What a terrible example.

At least acknowledge my list of very popular events Paul has been associated over the last ten years before you return to arguing with others.

Your list has nothing to do with what you quoted me on. congrats on naming things I didn't know he did in the last 10 years even though I know who he is and what those events are.

Really to everybody. They were a pop culture phenomenom. If you are just mildly into music then you should know who they were. Not knowing who the Beatles are is not quite as bad but approaching the same sort of level of not knowing the basics about what the cold war was or about the cuban missile crisis.

There are probably a lot of people who don't know those things either. They are still historical basics that should be known.

My bad. I thought for sure between the opening ceremony of the Olympics, two of America's biggest music festivals, and a main stream video game release you had maybe forgotten you were actually aware of something Paul McCartney did in the last ten years.

Were. Many decades ago.

Those are things that are taught in school pretty much universally. Not really the same IMO. I don't see what's so crazy about saying young people today don't know one particular member of the Beatles.

I'd bet a lot of so called sports fans couldn't tell you much about the '85 Bears other than knowing their defense was good.

Regardless if you like his music he is probably one of the most famous people on the planet. The Beatles were in my history books in high school. Also, this was a article last week. LINK

are you seriously arguing that these people are not trolling everyone acting like they don't know paul McCartney ?

tell me you're not.

if you just came out of a cave, then you get a pass.

you can't exist in the modern world and not know who paul McCartney is.
