If you play by the rules of polite society and American law, police officers are easy to get along with?
it's funny how following the law works that way

not having a dialogue.
Would you try to have a dialogue with your four year old, if he/she were kicking, screaming, questioning your authority as a parent and throwing shite around??
I wouldn't

not having a dialogue. That has not worked, neither has the whining of BLM.
What the hell do they need to talk about? Every one of these damn incidents has resulted from a perp RESISTING ARREST.
Don't want to get shot?

So you have a BBQ to help with race relations. Black people get to interact with police and realize that the police are not bad people with racist motivation to kill them. This will go along way for the younger black people that are being influenced by the media.
BLM protests generally do no good, make things worse, posters point it out. Instead of a protest, they actually get together with the police and do something...together. People still complain about it.

As someone born and raised in Missouri, I hate all things Kansas.
Kansans are the epitome of cuck.

Nobody is pissy about the bbq itself. Tangerine saying "neither side budging is pointless" is what is ridiculous. Police departments across the country do shite like this routinely. They hold food drives, toy drives, give bikes away at Christmas, etc. I've yet to see a single event involving BLM where they invite cops to "start a dialogue." In fact, the Wichita bbq was put together as BLM was there to protest.

No one is complaining about it. Sheesh.

A dialogue about what?
Working together to fix any perceived issues
Just getting to know each other, see where each side is coming from
I don't know, you don't think them coming together like they did and actually having normal conversations were more helpful than those protestors just going out and protesting on the streets?

Juneau PD had a unity event (not aimed at any particular group) and it was pretty cool.

I wonder what kind of BLM population you have up there.

I mean, if you're a police chief in specific areas, it seems almost like a good idea to reach out and try to have an event like this right about now, try to be proactive about things.

Even if a lot of the issues are perceived issues and not actual issues, you still have problems to work through.
Saying no dialogue is needed is like saying everything is perfectly fine...while protests are going on about killing cops and cops are being ambushed and killed just for being cops.
Posted on 7/22/16 at 10:25 am to shel311
A dialogue shouldn't be necessary.
ETA: I'm not against the move. I just think it's ridiculous that this sort of thing is necessary to show the black community that cops aren't all bad and aren't looking to kill innocent black people. Anyone with a lick of sense knows this already.

Again, unless you think everything is perfectly fine and couldn't get any better, despite protestors saying all the vile things they're saying and cops being targeted and ambushed...
