wondering how these two actually made the transition so well. I grew up listening to both of them and they just disappeared from the main stream radio airwaves then the next thing you know Will has his own show, now T-lake is a beast at the box offices(i actually have a man crush on him).
Anyway, are theye any other artists that you know of that have reached the status they have or are there any upcoming artists that you think have a legit shot?

Beebs? That new song doe, thats my jam.
LINKBTW,The chick in his Music video is fricking hot.

Ice Cube is not on the same actor level

Ice cube is just one creative mofo. That can't be denied. Whether he is good at acting or not, he is creative.

Ice Cube is a much bigger movie star than Timberlake. Ice T has had a pretty successful acting career too, though mostly on tv. Elvis and Frank Sinatra were both big time actors back in the day as well.

All I know is that JT has a hell of a PR guy for making everyone forget that he ripped off Janet Jackson's bra at the Super Bowl

Both of those guys you named and Marky Mark, also named, have charisma in spades. Something Bieber doesn't have. He's terrible in interviews, really shy.

LL Cool J comes to mind.

Don't mean to steal Eddie Murphy's bit....but Elvis couldn't act. He had to sing his lines! Was he in any movies where he didn't sing?

Now guys like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra are more in line (I think) with what the OP is looking at...guys who were musical performers but because equally or better known as actors in roles that had no relation to their musical career.
