I really liked it when I saw one...happened to see a bald eagle along the same stretch of road that day! it was a hell of a trip!

I know exactly which bear you're talking about. I used to see it all the time driving that stretch of highway.

From what I've seen on DWLF site... There is a family in that area, not far from where I saw this bear, and northern LA (AKA the dry, boring section of LA)

If it was on US 425 it's been there for a couple months now. Saw it driving from Baton Rouge to Monroe back in June.

There have been several in the past few years off of US 84, between Jonesville and Ferriday.

Did the bear shite in the woods?

Used to be a few around Toledo Bend when I lived down there. They were rare to see in those days.

There was some black bear crossing signs in Hwy 90 between Morgan city and Amelia or Patterson last time I past through there.somewhere on that stretch.
Anyone can confirm they are there?

I shot a female black bear and her 2 cubs last year behind my house. I know it's technically illegal but we have 4 small dogs that stay outside

bald eagles are scattered in areas between BR and Nola. They have the obvious nest by the spillway when youre going east but there are two that hangout on the west side on the lone tree about 2 miles down the road.
you can also see them all along the river.
tbh, the packs of black vultures are more impressive to see

Back in 2008, one appeared on my brother's deer cam snacking on his food plot.
ETA: This was between Opelousas and Baton Rouge off Hwy 190 near Fordoche, I believe.
ETA: Forgot that this was when Gustav landed. Cam in the same spot

Saw on Facebook that a friend saw one on 190 close to the WBR parish line the other night. It's probably flood/rain related.

Heading to Natchez to visit a friend
I first thought you were saying the bear was heading to Natchez to visit a friend.
I thought, how the hell does he know so much about that bear's plans.

The manager of our duck lease sent us a picture of a bear hauling arse across a rice field the other day.
