Congratulations.

Doesn't Seattle have one of the highest costs of living in the country?

Yes and I am somewhat concerned about it, as I have lived in areas with low costs of living(Jacksonville, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Iowa)

People will say bring a rain coat, but Baton Rouge gets more rain annually than Seattle. Seattle has more rainy days, but it's normally a quick drizzle then it clears up.

if you are truly moving to Seattle, I highly recommend living in Ballard

that is the area me and my wife were looking at when we were planning our move

buy a raincoat, as it does rain a lot, but it is generally just a mist and not like the rain down here

be prepared for no sun for 9 months out of the year

its a gorgeous area though and I'm jealous if you are really moving

Not the first time I have seen Ballard recommended, I appreciate it

I love misty weather between 40-50 degrees so this might be my place

I really am moving, I posted a thread a few weeks ago about the interview process and many posters said I wasn't getting the job

be prepared to pay for Ballard though

if you can't afford Ballard or closer to Seattle proper, our friends lived in Edmonds and it seemed pretty cool

just traffic on I-5 sucked
