Court hasn't approved it yet. I've only filed to have it reviewed by the judge. By that time I will have pay stubs.

If you say no, you are unpaid for another 45 days. I would think you would come out with more money in your pocket to just take the lower offer, after asking of course.
I also would be aware that your employer may be a jackass and would just use the position to get another. Win, win for you even at a 2.5k lower salary.

Depends. Individual business owner or a corporate structure? My scenario came when I hated my current employer and the new employer was offering a much better work/life balance. Knowing it was a fairly large corporation with stability I took the jump. We are up for annual raises and I didy part to earn a pretty decent raise. They took care of me. The boss was very open and honest with me during the hiring process so I took a leap of faith. It has paid off and been the best decision of my life.

Was that part of the conversation clear in the meeting? Sometimes I have conversations with people and they get shite wrong. A job interview is no different, they might have been nervous, you never know.

From personal experience, DCFS is a pain in the arse to deal with so it's better to get things in ASAP to them

It's a little over $200 per month. Depending on his salary, it could be a big deal.
Hell, I make decent money and I wouldn't want $200 less per month than I was promised.

It's about the money, sure, but I feel like he's more feeling disrespected. Someone tries that shite on me it's like they're calling me an idiot and expecting me to sign a paper that says "yes, I'm an idiot"

Best way to explain it is you'd understand if you were ever in the same situation.
It's a pain to deal with and I want everything resolved and documented ASAP. When you get divorced and have a child, your life is then basically run by the court and your ex. I have to pay child support even though I have my kid 65% of the time and I took absolutely nothing when I left. I took 0 community property and didn't even ask for a penny of the equity we had in our house.

Exactly. Someone who would purposely pull some shite like this(shorting someone money after agreeing on another amount), is a no good piece of fricking shite, that I wouldn't want to be associated with. Seriously, frick people like that.

I've been divorced twice and children involved both times. Maybe it's a La thing? In mine it was put in the decree how much child support is and that is that. She can always sue to have it evaluated again but it will never change simply because my income does.
