You don't think the state should be held responsible for wrongfully executing its citizens?

1. how can people rely on recollection of events 70 years ago?

2. how can these recollections be checked?

How is it even possible to try this case again?

I don't think relatives 70 years later should be the benefactor, no.

Should the family of every African American who was mistreated as a slave in 1850 get state reparations?

It's a terrible terrible thing that happened, but money isn't going to change anything. And it makes no sense to reward it to someone who didn't even know him, just because they share the same bloodline.

It's a sad situation, but most likely everyone who was responsible for it died. And most likely everyone who was immediately affected is close to death.

Sister now 70 years later says see was with her brother that day so he is innocent.

Anyone who read this story knows its white did black wrong.

White cop coherees a confession, an all white 12 man jury convicted.

Just read the Facebook comments most are saying death to all crackas, never trust white, screw all white people.

If y'all don't think its race then y'all are living with colored glasses on.

There are always going to be idiots who say idiotic things. But if the kid was innocent, the LEAST the state can do is apologize for wrongly executing a 14 year old.

How in the world would we know if he was innocent or not.

70 years later his sister says she was with him.
The confession can't be found but it was 1944 no computers

How in the hell can you determine quilt or innocence from this.

It's just some lawyers trying to make a name and a black family trying to get paid blaming whites for wrongfully killing a relative.

And what took 70 years to get the sister's memory going? Give me a fricking break.

Considering the fricking abomination of legal "reasoning" that got Rideau out of prison, you can bet your fricking arse this conviction will be overturned.

May as well bookmark it for gullible people as well. Why wouldn't this have come out anytime in the last 70 years? Give me on quasi reasonable reason. Just one.

This case has been controversial for many years. It's just now that anyone's doing something about it.
