So Big Pharma doesn't intentionally put deadly products on the market? hmmm

quote:

The official answer from the FDA and Big Pharma is that problems with a drug are only seen after millions begin using it, which is why post-marketing surveillance is conducted. In other words—who knew? But in a startling number of cases revealed in court documents Pharma did"know" and clearly misled medical journals, the FDA, doctors and patients, hoping to get its patent's worth before the true risks of a drug surfaced. In other cases, Pharma and the FDA should have known before rushing a dangerous drug to market and making money at the expense of patients.

It is the business model for new drugs that provokes Big Pharma to bury risks and exaggerate benefits. A new drug under patent has a high price and no competition, and will make millions or even billions every year it is under patent. A settlement for death or injuries down the road is a nuisance and just the cost of doing business. Needless to say, the "forgiveness is cheaper than permission" business plan breeds shameless repeat offenders since the company makes money and no officers go to jail

What's the primary/intended use of heroin and drano?

Primary use is clearly different. My point is still the same.

Why do YOU care what I put in MY body?

I do not care what YOU ingest into YOUR body.

but

1. the law shouldn't exist

2. even if you argue it should exist, what he did is not worth what amounts to a life sentence. the punishment is not proportional

Legalize and regulate heroin? You're shitting me right?

It's worked elsewhere with great results. But hey, if you think prohibition will ever work, it's probably not info you'd care to study.

Just legalize the buying, selling & ownership of any drug. Perhaps keep the use illegal.

1) Removes the profit motive
2) Keeps users liable for getting messed up and endangeting property & people.

Similar to alcohol. Buy & drink all you want but it becomes against the law when you are drunk in public, behind the wheel or whatever.

Yea because there is so many people breaking into homes for some booze. If its legal they can get it anywhere without the cops on their arse. If cocaine was legal do you really think an 8ball will be worth $180? The price will plummet.

You are incapable of thought. If I was President I would try to legalize every drug tomorrow. I mean all drugs from marijuana to DMT. I would try my best to crumble the profit prisons and then spend the money on real rehabilitation and the education system so people like you could be capable of thought and productivity.

Sorry to break this to you but for rehab to have a chance of working the person must WANT to stop. If your life sucks, bad/no job, crappy childhood, etc. getting high may be all you have got to look forward to each day.

Tried it.
Massive failure, for the most part.

Thats true but if we take the money made by legalization and apply it to education, we could probably prevent this type of thing from happening in the first place. Our education system sucks. Fix that so kids in the ghetto realize that being a drug dealer doesnt pay what it used to and that they could be something more. Teach kids the value of money by mandatory financial classes in high school. There is alot we can do, but there is no money in it for the people that want to keep it illegal in the first place.

Sounds good in theory but step 1 to fixing the ghetto is to strengthen the black family. All those things should be introduced at home not the classroom. Unfortunately we are becoming an increasingly egocentric society and selfies/money/electronics have become more important than raising our children.

people should take responsibility for their actions. If you want to do heroine...fine! Knock yourself out. If you die, don't blame the guy you bought it from. Don't blame your parents for enabling you. It's your fault.

I don't think most people are against dumb arse adults wanting to put something toxic in their bodies. The problem is, this stuff is so addictive and dangerous, you just shouldn't take the chance of 14 to 17-year-olds getting a hold of this stuff...much less someone who is considered legally retarded or someone who has a mental condition which clouds their judgement. Hell, it doesn't account for someone having a bad day and getting frustrated and using heroine to ease the pain only to find themselves addicted for life.

It would be interesting to see if the timeline for becoming an alcoholic would be the same for heroine or crystal meth.
