I don't like these people and think they're weird, but I thought the reports said the family reported it to police at the time and everyone got counseling, is that not correct?

It wouldn't be molestation if it was looking.

And no, it's not the same. I'm assuming it was touching. Molestation and rape are different. If he raped the girls, the vitriol would be and should be much stronger.

Is that the only thing that matters to you? What if they were 7, 8, or 9? that makes it better?

Then it wouldn't be a freak-show. Screw all of the atheists calling this family a freak-show. I am not a so-called fundie but I see the hate in this thread.

It's been mentioned a few times in the thread.

They waited a year to report it. They first reported it to their church elders and then confided in a friend who was a police officer.

The "therapy" he received was working for some company for a few months.

The family is weird. But everyone rejoicing in their strife is pretty fricked up, as I'm not aware of them being the equivalent of Westboro Baptist or anything.

being angered by the hypocrisy and skeleton in closet is not rejoicing.

Link? I read it was a church camp

And I did tons of manual labor for no pay when I hadn't done anything wrong. I don't see how manual labor breaks child molesting habits

A) the article in the OP says so, which obviously you didn't read.

"However, later in the report Michelle Duggar states where their son was sent was "not really a training center," rather he was sent to stay with an acquaintance and do manual labor."

B) the key item was that he was SENT AWAY from the family and the house, not the manual labor part.

Rejoicing is rejoicing, though. Nobody is actually angry. They're either noting hypocrisy (fine) or relishing it (weird).

Also, not sure what is hypocritical about the situation, but admittedly I don't know much about the family. I know the son is opposed to same sex marriage and worked for FRC, but that alone doesn't make him some giant hypocrite or something. If he's on the record talking about how gay families molest kids and are evil, then obviously the hypocritical label is pretty appropriate.

I would say there's a difference between a 5 and a 9 year old, wouldn't you?

The point is, he's making up information to push his agenda.

Oh ok, so the manual labor obviously helped him cure his molesting tendencies. Got it

exit the thread and keep your lack of informed opinions quiet. I've probably watched about half of their stupid episodes over the years and i'm getting lectured by people who haven't watched shite. Stick a fork in it.

Playing devil's advocate, going to live in a different environment, do manual labor, get solid male guidance about life and sex and whatnot wouldn't strike me as unwise in that situation. To me it's the equivalent of a drug using kid having to go live with his grandmother in the country for a while instead of going to a treatment facility. I could envision it being successful.

This has gone fully political. USA Today loving it, the republicans are smeared and guilty because of this. You Christian haters have a blast now, ya hear? And I am not a 'fundie.' I see the politics in it though.

A. me, as a homosexual?
B. @joshduggar, as a child molestor?

I know reading obviously reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, but nowhere in my post did I say that. I said he was sent away from the family and the child he was touching. Which is exactly what I said in my post.

Go push your agenda elsewhere, and try reading sometime. Actual reading, top to bottom, Left to right, not biased skimming where you only pick up information that fits your point.

Oh sure thing, moron, I'll do just that. I'm discussing something rationally, and because people are challenging your vast knowledge of reality TV, you're acting like a little girl.

Grow up.

Yeah but we don't know what happened while he was there. Professional counselors are way more adept at handling these things
