Yea I don't see anything racist in what he said. However, as an appointed public official, he should have had the fore thought to not put that shite on facebook. Did he not think it was going to get back to his bosses??

No reason for a chief of police running around telling people to "grow some fricking balls" on facebook. If you want to be in that kind of position of responsibility, you should act like it.

The man is angry and scared. The rest of Jonesville are the racist, thin skinned ones. They do need to grow a fricking pair and deal with the reality of HIS situation. The man is better off for getting away from these idiots. Pack your family and get the hell our there. They did you a favor as they obviously do not support you in the least.

I saw a video on Facebook yesterday with some local hick cops in La talking about "hunting down and capturing the animals in the Gremlin St gang". While I totally understand his sentiment, putting that shite out on video like that was totally out of line, and should jeopardize the case. That guy should be fired too.

ETA: This was from a while back (Feb), but still a stupid video that sort of goes against the whole reason we have the justice system we do here.

his 'racist' comment was to criticize the president ...

I kind of thought it was the "my brothers (white police officers)" thing

Ask yourself if that's an appropriate social media post. I'd say it's not. He acted unprofessionally on a public platform and was asked to resign because of it.

Must be something in the water there.

He was fired Friday.

His only mistake was singling out white officers. That is not a racist comment at all however. I'm sick of hearing these stupid stories of made up outrage and faux racism/anti free speech in America.

This is no different to me than the black television personality who was fired for her comments in support of the police shootings. When you post something to social media that is so ignorant, you are obviously incompetent, and that is cause for termination IMO.

The first blacked out blank said "bullshite" the rest said some variation of the f-word.

Skylar is not a racist. The majority of his small police force was/is black. He always treated them with the utmost respect. He criticized Obama and that was all it took for this nonsense to get set in motion. His post was screenshotted and passed around facebook like a baton, and enough morons got upset about it and went to the town council and mayor about it.

The problem with the left is that they want to holler, scream, and cuss at the right, but the first time someone from the right says anything remotely detrimental to their liberal utopian ideology, they call foul and label people as racist. Conservatives are eventually going to get fed up with this destruction of our morals and slandering of our character.

I find it very hypocritical that the representative from baton rouge was walking around protesting with a fake blood soaked alton sterling shirt on voicing her opinion, but the second this white police cheif voiced his opinion he was disciplined unjustly. The first amendment can not be used only when either side finds it appropriate. If one of these instances is deemed racist, so should the other.

The first amendment protects you from being thrown in jail or censored, not getting fired for acting unprofessional on social media.

It was dumb for him to say "white police officers" when black officers in Baton Rouge and Dallas were killed also.

If you're the police chief, there are avenues to have your voice heard outside of Facebook. Shows immaturity on his part and should be disciplined. Not for being racist but for someone in leadership using Facebook to try and handle a systemic issue.
