No argument there. But still not on par with the AF

It's the exact same housing and contractors. Almost all the old housing has been torn down. Not saying the AF isn't more cush but food and housing is identical in most places.

If he's a smart kid, I'd say Air Force.

In fact, my son is a smart kid and is in the Air Force.

I retired Army after 24 years and now work for the Navy EOD since 2010 and as much as it pains me to say: Navy all the way. Better bases, better living conditions, better treatment especially if he makes Chief (E-7), they treat them dudes like Gods. When I made E-7, there was no parade, or strippers, or carnivals. I went to work and that was it. In the Navy, you would think they just got elected damn President. Geaux Navy and enjoy life. I see kids from all four branches here and the Navy and Air Force seem the happiest. Here is a good example, An Army member (E1-E4) here has a bed check at 2100 every night 7 days a week but the Navy and Air Force members at the same rank does not. Sounds unfair but that's just the way it is

I imagine they make such a fuss for Navy promotions because of how much difficult it is to get promoted vs the Army and Marines. I see folks in the Navy (good sailors) that have been in close to 8 years and are just making E-5. In the Army I was an E-5 at 2 3/4 years of service (came in a E-3).

No, it's an Air Force Base but the Army follows TRADOC Regs since it is an MOS producing School. That rule also only applies to IET and not the prior service Soldiers.

That's what I figured. Never heard of permanent party having a bed check unless there was a colossal frick up like missing weapons.

And with privatization, food and housing are pretty equivalent now.

I'm sorry man, but this just isn't true.

I am in the Air Force and I have only been stationed at Joint Bases with the Army and the housing is much better on the Air Force side.

That is anywhere you go, really.

But do not live on base, ever. If you can move off base and get your own place that is the way to go.

Navy. See more of the world in a shorter span of time get a skill and see cultures from all over. Navy is more prestigious as far as the academy goes. And the Navy doesn't keep you out fr too long in one spot. Army you can plan on goig to a base somewhere in Germany and being bored out of your mind. I was navy and enjoyed it and recommend it. I hae a buddy in the rangers. He only went army Bc he couldn't get into BUDS. He said it's great there too. I've always enjoyed te water so to each his own I guess but I like navy better

Neither. Air Force.

Same pay, less bullshite.

If he is going to stay single, the Navy is an awesome way to "see the world".

If he has a wife, it is awesome way to get Jody in his bedroom.

Good point. But does that make you less a Soldier because you fast tracked? I would imagine that your First Line Supervisor or Platoon Sergeant seen your potential and did the right thing (BTW, good job). One of the main reasons it takes the Navy longer is the test they take in comparison to the Army Selection Boards. The Navy really has a more fair and competitive way of advancing as sad as that may sound. What is your MOS?

Definitely if he's single join navy. Girls love sailors man. I've been to Scotland England Africa Italy Spain Malta Dubai Greece Seychelles south Carilina virginia New Jersey Florida Illinois just in four years. When you put on that dress uniform the panties drop. Even when you wish they wouldn't have. Pull them things up girl. Nasty
