John Fuller has relinquished his appointment to the Criminal Court bench in order to stay on representing Cardell Hayes. Could this be a because he actually believes he has a chance of winning this case or just its such a high profile case that it would be good for his practice?

Why can't it be both?

True, I would go more with he actually thinks he can win. I don't think he would stay on if he thought this case was impossible to win from the get go.

I've said this in the other threads but I think Fuller is aiming higher than keeping Hayes out of jail. He's going after NOPD. All the shite he's doing right now is just deflection.

He will be infamous if he gets Hayes off and if he doesn't he is still going to be all over the news for the next few years.

He explains his reasoning in the first couple minutes of that press conference video in the link. It's worth watching, whether or not you conclude that he is just saying the right things.

This case has done more for him already than sitting as a judge for 6 months could.
