Considering some have achieved little I am amused at those who bash Jesse Jackson who has negotiated the release of hundreds of American citizens & soldiers from war zones across the world.
Lt Robert Goodman who reunited with Jackson years later can tell you.

Slate .com even wrote an article "Jesse Jackson How does he Do It? ". Amazed at Jacksons ability to free American Hostages / Soldiers from war zones.
Too many articles to link about Jackson securing the release of Americans / Soldiers.
Considering most have not done nearly as much the least they could do is Google Jacksons hostage release prowess.

Good things is an understatement.
"Great" things considering he has potentially saved the lives of dozens of US soldiers & citizens in war zones/ hostile countries.
