Actually you can get a Laredo for as low as $32k before TT&L.
The current Grand Cherokee is a world class platform. It is some of the last technology that Chrysler got when they were partnered with Mercedes.

I have had 3 jeeps a cherokee GC and now have a 13 unlimited. The grand c you can't beat got 200k out of my 96. Loved it. I love my 13 just as much as it's even same color as my 96. I say you can go wrong with one.

Posted by lsunurse I have a 2014 Jeep Unlimited and mine has the first one pictured. Second one must be for the Grand Cherokees

I needed a new oil pump after one month of the 2013 version. Other than that, I have had no problems whatsoever and enjoy the truck.

Daggum, 30 mpg would make my day

This is the one you want (2013+ for the Jeeps, IIRC):
2014 has that one... My 2013 does not
FWIW my brother bought one 6 hours after I did and they honored the price I got mine for 1200 miles away. The LA dealership wasn't thrilled with the price. His was sans 4x4 though

It was the lowest price in the Country and USAA no haggle price. I walked in handed them a check from USAA and drove off

You will not get 30 mpg unless you drive around a level test track with no other traffic in 8th gear at 45 mph.
My best grandpa-like driving yields 28 mpg at 65 mph on flat interstate travel. After 18k of careful driving (mostly freeway) my global mpg is 26. Most folks would not drive as cautiously as I do to get that good of a result. A better real word result would be around 24-25 mpgs.
I do like that when I fill the tank up, the distance to empty feature indicates a range of around 640 miles is available.
Laredo E purchased new in January for $32,500.00 including sales tax.
Do not buy a Grand Cherokee without a power driver's seat.

Damn
That's the same engine that's in the Ram, right? They claimed it got 28 so now I assume that's more like 20-22

3.6L V6 VVT engine.
I've got a '12 RAM Crew Cab Pickup in our fleet with the 5.7L V-8 that gets 20.5 mpg in mixed driving, mostly freeway but some in-town. It never tows anything or does any real truck work.

When the Diesel Unlimited comes out I think my husband will def trade in his Rubicon for it.

I doubt I'll have the cash but I am definitely intrigued by the diesel colorado/canyons.
Also curious about the diesel Frontiers. I know Cummins is doing the Titans so maybe they'll do the Frontiers too.
Probably will like the GM product more but I get all excited thinking about how efficient those trucks could be. Makes me wish Ford would bring back the Ranger and quit being dicks about diesels in anything belore a 250

How's the ride quality? I heard someone say (who could have not known what he was talking about) that it was rough. I haven't ridden in or driven one yet but it's on my short list.

I bought a 2014 JGC Overland 4x4 Ecodeisel in March. My lease was up on a 2011 535i (make of that what you will re: OT baller status)
It's been excellent. Rides & drives like a dream. Performs almost like a Hemi 0-60. The best I've been able to avg was 29 mpg on the way back from Destin last month. The latest UConnect is FAR superior to BMW iDrive or the nav in our Tahoe. If you're really interested in one, there's a Texas Group Buy in Houston where you get a no haggle 5.5% off invoice. My final price was $47K plus TTL. Here's the link: Texas group buy in Houston

I like them, a lot.
Bought a GC in the mid-90s and it was great. Had it for 9 years and it was only at the tail end that we started having issues (but we wore that fricking thing out).
From what I have read here, they've kept up the good things about the vehicle (ride, gas mileage, quality). May go that route on the next vehicle.

I had an 01 GC I traded in not to long ago with 275K miles on it. Best vehicle I ever owned.
