In a effort to promote “greater inclusion and representation” on campus, some students at Cornell University have proposed student government elections—based entirely on race.

For example, the assembly currently includes special liaison positions for minority students, international students, LGBTQ students, female students and first-generation college students. But it was determined that more change was needed to address “the systemic exclusion” of minority voices.

Maybe somebody can help me out here, but isn't that the definition of racism? Treating someone differently based on their race.

In NELA during the mid 70's we had black class favorites and white class favorites. We had black homecoming court members and white homecoming court members. We didn't have a prom because they were way too afraid of the mixing back then.

I didn't mind having representatives from "each" race, but having a banquet in the high school cafeteria instead of a prom still bothers me.

What we need is an outrage board...I'm kind of getting lost trying to figure out all the shite I'm supposed to get all up in arms about each day between this and the Poli Board. Consolidating that to it's own board would be useful as shite...

More like an irony board.

In an effort to combat racism and exclusion, the SGA segregated candidates according to race.

Oh...I get it, and in no way should my post suggest I agree with their actions.

I'm just laughing at the constant whining about each and every thing imaginable...it's comical how upset most of this place is about the stupidest shite.

I was simply suggesting we put it on the irony board.

Relax. Stop being so outraged.

I find it funny that people are surprised by the fact that democrats are pushing for segregation. They've done it before, they're just wording it differently this time.
