No, I believe religion was a tool in the creation of war, much like it is today in the Middle East.

Considering close half of the total human population presently residing in the United States believes that the Rapture will happen, I think it is safe to say the Heaven and Hell dynamic is very much alive and well.

Fine. Let them believe what they want and let them teach their kids what they want. Worry about yourself and your kids. They shouldn't concern you.

Religion breeds ignorance. Women are reproductively suited for sexual activity in their early teens, as designed by nature. These women go through this period in life often feeling shame about their desires, because they're desires are wrong, albeit natural.

Guarantee you that religious and southern women get married and procreate earlier than northern, non-religious counterparts.

If they would check their religiosity at the door and leave it entirely out of politics, I wouldn't care. They don't, at least not all of them, thus it becomes everyone's problem.

Why? How is it any different than any other concept that achieves religion-like status in politics?

That shouldn't surprise, considering Marriage is a religious construct. Sex is natural, marriage is not.

I bet divorce rates are similar. I've actually read the Atheist who waits to marry is least likely to divorce.

Could say the same thing about atheists who bitch about anything that can be seen as a religious reference on public property.

In my experience, the "Bible Belt" is like over half the damn country, not just the south. Places like Colorado Springs are more baptist than anywhere in the south. Salvation Mountain is in California even:

Give me some examples.

Most laws can be logically traced to something real, something known.

Teen pregnancies are very high in the more religious parts of the country.

Point is, it seems as though the Bible Belt gets it on precisely when you think they should.

Stop ruining this thread by making it a religion debate. That shite gets old. Let's talk about VBS

Not talking about laws, I'm talking about things that influence laws. Especially things celebrated zealously, approaching a religion.

From the left, I think it's fair to say many liberals approach diversity with religious-like zeal. However, like religious influence, it can lead to unnatural and unproductive results, but arguably has a positive legacy as well.

You do realize that multiple discussions can occur in any thread, no?

You peeps just love to whine and complain. This is a pretty insult free version of internet religious discourse.

Lighten up, Francis. Does thanking God rustle your Jimmies that much?
