With a small section of bars, hookers, and donkey shows?
I am imagining it is something like Bourbon Street. People not from here think all of New Orleans is one big Bourbon St.

It is a shite hole and it is dangerous. And the cops will shake you down. I was escorted to an ATM by the police.

Went there 7 years ago with my wife and a couple friends who lived in San Diego, and their 4 year old daughter.
Was a daytime visit.. we walked all over the tourist areas and slightly beyond. Never felt unsafe.
The dude was a Navy Seal, but not some obvious arse kicker.
There are pretty squares, churches, etc. Cold cerveza, good food, etc. Enjoy!

Whatever dude... he is from north Louisiana, lives in Slidell now. We got to crash at their on-base housing (on beautiful Coronado Island), and BBQ'd in their backyard.

Strange, girlfriends can't even stay at on base housing. I'm not doubting you stayed there, some places are different than others! My Aunt dated a seal a long time ago, he was good guy...but crazy lol

I get what you were saying about your friend being a seal.
My buddy was also a frogman and he can't fight like a hardcore guy or run shop in a bar by any means. He is overly just skinny and lean.
The one thing he has going that helped him more than anything in BUDs is that his engine is unreal. You can beat and beat and beat on that dude and he can stay at a hardcore pace when it comes to physical training.

I was mugged by uniformed police in Nogales. They also were helpful enough to inform me that "white boys get fricked up over here". I mean, legit hookers and blow but frick that place.
