I don't understand why your arguement is that nobody removing the statues was from the New Orleans first responders. You met a single person that was coming to town for his expertise on crowd control.

The city made the announcement Thursday night, just hours before it planned to remove the statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from the top of the monument at Lee Circle. In addition, the city plans to have an announcement regarding the statues' removal Friday at Gallier Hall. The event was tweeted and later removed by an account for Councilwoman Susan Guidry.

Guidry is my councilperson. She already lost all support from me when she cast her vote with Half Moon on this.

Mitch is a fricking idiot but there's no way he hosts a party to celebrate the removal of the monuments that have caused this much debate

I think he's absolutely arrogant enough and lacking enough in self-awareness to do such a thing.

I want to see how they rig up 16' tall Robert E Lee. I can't believe nobody in y'alls city hasnt called out OSHA just to try to stop this crap as just a last move.

This is tyranny at its finest. Nothing else. This is abhorent.

I have a feeling after all the dust settles there will be some digging and they will find some dirt. This whole thing is shady as frick. Heads will roll

No, but I hear Anita Dick is on deck to make an appearance, as is Michael Hunt.

No word on Richard Cranium yet...wait...never mind. He's hosting this thing.

Stacy Head was the only person to officially oppose right?

though I seem to remember others opposed during the debate but then held their nose and voted to support

Troopers have been in NOLA during Mardi Gras and other special events for an awfully long time. Not just this year.
