You’re lucky that you got off the plane. I got diverted from ATL to somewhere in South Carolina. It wasn’t even dark and the airport was closed. Sat on the plane for hours with the doors open for air circulation.

I've had many, many whiskeys at the Shreveport airport. There's a bar behind the cafe in the American/United terminal.
As someone who flys into multiple regional airports for work, I don't think I'd even put Shreveport in the bottom 10. And I think it's much simpler (and cleaner) than BTR.

I just moved back after 35 years. I am 5 mins from the airport and get through everything in about 10 mins. I have flown in and out of a ton of domestic airports. Lafayette may be the best small airports in the US.
Worst small airport- Paducah Ky
Worst medium- Memphis
Worst large airport- Laguardia - I heard Newark is trash.

Massively underrated aspect of SHV. For those that just want to get where they are going and not bothered with gawking like slack-jawed imbeciles in the line of an even more overpriced Starbucks or fast food joint, it's awesome how simple Shreveport Regional is. I'd take that over flying out of real shitholes like Philly and Memphis.

Flew into Hoedspruit Airport. It's basically a cottage on an air force base.
Baggage claim is outside in front. First luggage crate came around with a tractor pulling it. Apparently, that was the only one, as some poor bastard was pulling the second cart all by himself.

Never had an issue flying out of Shreveport. It’s super easy. Never any lines or waits. It’s small so everything is right there.
