Is Louisiana going to be swallowed up in a giant sinkhole one day?

Are giant sink holes a reality here? Do you fear being suddenly swept away into a deep dark muddy grave in your sleep?

Or many collectors with Corvettes. I think we are relatively safe.

From my extremely limited understanding, no. Areas with salt domes/mines, etc. will obviously be significantly more susceptible, but the majority is just as likely as pretty much half the United States.
USGS Sinkholes
Probably have to worry about man made issues more, such as the result of intentional water diversion.

When you really think about it, it is inevitable that all of the land masses on the globe will eventually erode into the vast ocean
May take awhile

Yes. We have been there 35 years. At one point various family members have owned 4 down there. My parents sold theirs when they inherited my grandparents. Myself, my cousins and all of our children grew up there. We miss it terribly.

Point was Florida has the sinkhole problem.

Sorry to hear that and I'm sure you do miss it. When I was a kid we would go eat boiled crawfish at Camp Bayou Corne because The Old Beachcomber Bob Scarce told us to on channel 9. This was before you found them in Baton Rouge. Great place and I've caught many fish around there over my lifetime.
Hope you find something close that will at least get you back in the same area even if it doesn't replace a lifetime of memories.

That is the problem. Sisters and mom want the freshwater experience with the kids. Brother in laws want salt water. Dad wants low maintenance. No one can agree on anything.

Well I'm done with saltwater camps. Had a houseboat at the mouth of the river, camp at Cocodrie, camp at Bayou Dularge, camp at Fourchon. ALL of them blew away in hurricanes. I'm too old for that so I'm sticking to fresh water. Actually I'm about to buy one on Lake Bruin up north.
Your dad has the right idea. I got tired of going to the camp and working all weekend or cutting grass.

Lake Bruin is a nice area. I have friends who have camps there. Husbands family has one at lake Mary in Mississippi which is ok but just not the same. Both bruin and mary are much further from the house than corne though.
