It's un-Louisianian not to be able to spell Louisianian.

Seriously though, it's carbs on top of carbs. It's nothing special but it's delicious.

They're the same thing as funnel cake. And it's ok to not like them.

I don't eat fried food anymore, so Beignets are a no-go.

Well I was being a tad hyperbolic. But in all seriousness, there are a number of absurd New Orleans related items that in living and working in this city one has to refrain from criticism or face social, political, and/or economic backlash.

I don't like beignets from Coffee Call or the place on College Dr. They are greasy and seem to be missing an ingredient (milk omitted and more water added). I do like the beignets from Cafe du Monde and Cafe Begniet (on Royal St).

Beignets have been in New Orleans since the 18th century. They can't be all that bad.

Meh they're alright, nothing special. I do get annoyed when I'm New Orleans or somewhere and someone I'm with is like "We can't leave without going to Cafe du Monde!11!"

I think it's inhuman. Are Louisianians humans?

I don't think so. I am not a big fan. If it wasn't for my out of town friends who insist on getting some beignets i wouldn't go out my way to get some.

They taste ok, but I'm not wild about them either. Too messy for me.

I think you'd fall in the don't know how to eat them category.

I still don't understand why people get their panties in a wad because someone likes something they don't.

Not at all, I feel the same way with fresh boiled crawfish. Granted, I enjoy crawfish tails in different dishes like a et tu fete or fried crawfish tail poboy. Fresh boiled crawfish fricks with my stomach the next day I feel.

Order them extra crispy. I don't like the doughy ones.
