Dumb question Im sure but putting up lights for the first time. Is it ok to connect 2 extension cords together. Secure connection, under the porch and not in the weather.

The answer is probably yes.

As long as they are decently built.

yes, I do it frequently. just be sure the two extension cords are the same gauge wire (i.e. 15 AWG, etc.)

also, tape up any connection with electrical tape to keep the weather out and feel every connection after it has been on for a while to be sure it is not getting hot...

Watched some Asians strip the ends of a 12 gauge cord, wrap it around the ears of a live pig, stand said pig in a #5 wash bucket full of water and plug it in. That was an interesting cook. They didn't think shooting it would be good in Sherwood Forest.

shite no man. I knew a guy that tried it once. Thought it be fine. He received his wanted power ok, but later tripped over the cords and strained a quad. Don't do it.

It's perfectly fine. Just realize that the longer the cord the less load you can put on it unless it's a heavy duty industrial/commercial grad cord. Unless you're putting up enough shite to be seen from space you're probably good to go.

What if you had an extension cord from the wall, an adapter to make it 3 females, and 3 extension cords coming off that? Too much?

This but emphasis mine. You didn't include cord lengths and gauge.

Too much. Should use power strip with surge protector - then you can connect as many cords as you want. It's nothing to rig up 6 or 7 more cords to that one strip.

Yes. Make sure you put foil between them first.

Yes, but they need to be of high quality, don't connect a 100ft industrial cord with a 2 wire household extension cord.
