I don't know OP, then I wouldn't have my dentist there to talk LSU football. My dentist is cool, I feel much better after he tells me everything looks good then a dental hygienist saying that.

Loupes and LED headlamp has made the last 10 years or so much more tolerable than the first few years were without them. My hygenists are wearing them now as well. The magnification is nice, but the beam focused light is a game changer. Its a no brainer.

My hygienist pumped about $80K ((that's a conservative number) of pure profit into the practice (in a 2-dentist practice). That's after her salary and overhead, and not counting her pano x-rays, and seeing around 8-10 patients a day. In the earlier years of the practice, when we first took over from the previous dentist, the hygienist was seing a patient every 30 minutes - up to 16/day. After we took over we scaled back the schedule for quality control. Obviously if someone hasn't had their teeth cleaned in a few years, they are getting a gross scale the first visit, then a fine sclae/polish the next visit. - and multiple hour long visits for root planing if they are a perio case. I've never understood how people lose money on hygiene in a practice.

Yes, I remember seeing Robin Leach doing a lifestyles of the Rich and Famous doing a story on a OT Baller hygienist from Colorado.
There was a hygienist that I met about 10-15 years ago who was taking home about $150K/year. She ran two chairs and had her own assistant, working in a large office with multiple associates. That's better than a lot of dentists I know.

I know that girl initials DC. If this is the same gal, she had a scheduler and hyg assistant and made bank for a hygienist. But, she had 4-5 dentists feeding her patients.
Do you think she paid any overhead?
Let's she her do this, on her own paying for her own facility, advertising, staff, personal and property taxes, etc. etc. etc.

If a dental practice can run at around 60% overhead, a hygiene practice could run well below that. And a hygienist can easily net $1,500 $2,000 per day. I don't see the problem here. A stand-alone hygiene practice could rake in a LOT of money - easily more than a lot of dentists make.

So at $80 per cleaning, no radiographs or exam because they cannot diagnose, they would have to see 19-25 patients per day. Where do you find such superhuman hygienist? With the hyg being so busy seeing 3-4 patients per hour, how exactly is she scheduling, confirming appts and cleaning/setting up treatment rooms?
Seeing that many pts per hour would necessitate 2 extra employees at least. I hope your superwoman hyg is FFS, because she might need someone to file insurance, verify insurance and follow up on outstanding claims.
This 60% overhead seems a bit ambitious considering there are no high production procedures (crowns, dentures, non sx perio, implants) to boost production and reduce overhead.

Popkern.
A bullshitting blowhard dentist (911)
Versus
A real ot baller dentist(ruzil)
I got $ on the latter. His numbers seem more realistic.

I'm guessing the latter has performed 4341 with pockets less than 4mm and with no indication of a loss of attachment. The former, has not.

You would have guessed wrong you stupid goat fricker. If you brushed your teeth more than once a week and flossed occasionally you might not have periodontal disease and a friend or two that would dare to ride in an elevator with you.
I'm truly sorry you didn't get accepted into dental school. There is always university of the Punjab.

You sure are mad at someone that complimented you. Weird.
Never had 4341 and don't have any friends that I know that have had 4341. My hygienist loves me because I don't take much time. Good genes I suppose.
Why would suggest that I only brushed my teeth once a week? That's silly.
I'd actually refer folks to you based on your postings. I don't think you steal from people.

A little light but necessary reading for you:
Former-Latter
Have you ever gotten confused over the differences between “latter” and “former”?
Here’s an example of how people use the two words: “I enjoy reading Entrepreneur and Inc, but prefer the latter over the former.”
“Former” refers to the first of TWO persons or things.
Example: “This item is available in wood and in metal, but I prefer the former.”(Wood: the first of two things)
“Latter” refers to the second of TWO persons or things.
Example: “Red and blue are popular colors, but the latter is more popular.” (Blue: the second of two persons)
Here’s a trick to remember the differences: the word “former” means “first” and both begin with the letter “f.” Once you know that former is first, the latter part is easy.
“Latter” and “last” both begin with an “l.”
Former: first
Latter: last

This thread reminds me. I used to go to a dentist on lakeview. Dude had a dime piece right out of lsu working for him. Short. Brunette. Big titties. She would rest them right on my forehead when she was fricking with my mouth.
