I called my agent and I can transfer the flood policy.
On the house we are purchasing, we are using Liberty Mutual for the new homeowners policy. They are charging the same amount as State Farm for a more expensive and larger home.

there is a waiting period on a new policy, but not if you are buying a home. the new policy takes effect on the date of the closing, or so I was told today by my mortgage company

Flood Insurance increased by 27.2%
In St. Charles Parish
Anyone else Homeowners increased that much?
I think it is time to start shopping for a new insurance supplier!
Flood insurance rates are set up FEMA, it doesn't matter who supplies the policy it is all going through FEMA.

Check back with State Farm next renewal. You'll get to keep your years in force discount with SF and get new customer rating. I hate it but Like I tell some of my customers you're better off sometimes to leave and then come back.

Less work for the lender,
yeah cause they love having policies less than 12 months of coverage at closing.
yes it can be transferred, i wouldn't recommend it unless needing to for a reason.
