Is "American Owned and Operated" Racist?

I don't think so at all; however, I overheard a girl at a restaurant comment that it's racist for businesses to advertise that they are "American Owned and Operated" because it suggests that their business is better than one owned by someone from overseas, simply because they are Americans.

People are still proud to be American. The issue is a few people in the minority have learned that if they claim discrimination/racism nobody will challenge them on it for fear of being called a racist themselves, regardless of how baseless the claim is.
This is a prime example, American isn't a even a race. This is just about buying "local" to support the USA, race has nothing to do with it.
