Just what exactly is so lowly about an MBA from LSU?

Do it!
I worked for a few years after undergrad and saved enough money to get my MBA and not have to work. I quit my job and went to grad school full time. I really appreciated the break from the rat race and changed career paths.
Do some research and see which MBA concentrations are getting job offers and work hard to get an internship during the summer. If you have work experience and are not coming straight from undergrad, you already have a leg up on many of the other students.

People who say going to grad school is "useless" don't know what they're talking about IMO
It really depends on the field and where you are in your career. At my company a master's starts you out marginally higher than someone starting with a bachelors. If I had started right out of undergrad and worked till now I'd be making significantly more with experience alone.
However, it will likely make a difference when I make my next jump as many of the jobs I am seeing say masters preferred.
