Maybe you should stick to commenting about Pinterest recipes, instead of topics you know jack shite about.

The kamakazis were soldiers. Yes, they used extreme tactics.

However, a-bombing two large cities and killing 200,000+ people is on an entirely different level. Nothing like that has ever happened to the United states.
Please inform me of something the Japanese did that was worse than what we did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

And the fact their citizens were brainwashed into believing America would have no mercy and kill them all. Children as young as 6 were receiving military/suicide training. Every one of them would have fought to the death in a mainland invasion.

Well, the first bomb didn't cause an immediate surrender. The Japanese government was dithering, and elements in the military wanted to enact a coup to continue the war.

Yeah this pseudo-liberal gab about "The second bombing was entirely unnecessary" has always left me shaking my head.

Not only did Japan NOT surrender after the first bomb, a Japanese military coup came oh-so-very close to capturing both the Emperor and his seal...which would have enabled the group to set policy.

quote:

The Kyujo incident (???? Kyujo Jiken?) was an attempted military coup d'état in Japan at the end of the Second World War. It happened on the night of 14–15 August 1945, just before the announcement of Japan's surrender to the Allies. The coup was attempted by the Staff Office of the Ministry of War of Japan and many from the Imperial Guard of Japan to stop the move to surrender.

The rebels, led by Hatanaka, spent the next several hours fruitlessly searching for Imperial House Minister Sotaro Ishiwatari, Lord of the Privy Seal Koichi Kido, and the recordings of the surrender speech. The two men were hiding in the "bank vault", a large chamber underneath the Imperial Palace.[14][15] The search was made more difficult by a blackout in response to Allied bombings, and by the archaic organization and layout of the Imperial House Ministry.

Kyujo incident

If you really want to blame anyone for the second bomb, blame Stalin.

quote:

The Soviets needed a few months to get ready to join in the war against Japan (and stake a claim for future spoils) and there was some concern that Japan might collapse and surrender before the USSR could declare war. So the Soviets, which were still neutral, opened a back-door diplomatic channel with Japan. They convinced the Japanese that the Americans were getting tired of the war and might consider a negotiated settlement and were using the Soviets as a clandestine middleman. Japan naturally was encouraged by this apparent evidence that they might still avoid defeat. When the Soviet Union declared war, the Japanese were faced with not only the weight of the Soviet military but also the realization that their hopes of a negotiated settlement had been based on lies.

14 MILLION Chinese were killed in that war. Wanna guess by whom?

By killing 200,000, we probably saved 2 or 3 million Japaese (many civilians) and 1 million US soldiers. Estimates obviously.

My father would have been part of the invasion of Japan. No an estimate, Fact.

So STFU.

Here's another MENSA candidate. The Japs used their own experience in barbaric tactics to scare their public. You really think the US would have pulled Nanking type shite? The fact you can even equate the two shows how stupid you are.

They treated the Chinese terribly but stooping to that level is pretty sad.

Other people in here are getting emotional about their fathers being in the war. That is completely irrelevant.

I love America but I don't understand how anyone can think a-bombing two large cities was justified.

We, as in OUR forefathers, had just claimed victory in Europe losing a hell of a lot of young men along the way. After, the relationship with Russia was starting to deteriorate and we weren't quite sure where we were going to end up there. The island to island battles in the Pacific(Midway, Tarawa, Makin, Palau, etc) also claimed a hell of a lot of young men. Don't sit in your soft chair, in your air conditioned house, watching your cable television, and dare to play Monday morning quarterback on shoulda woulda coulda. Do yourself a favor and read up on it...till then pound sand.

I have no idea why im being bashed and down voted.

You do know the bomb killed hundreds of thousands of people in two civilian targets many of whom were women and children right?

I haven't made a political stance one way or the other.

Just pointing out that they were told American would have no mercy. We didnt. And they folded.
