I believe he used the word heirloom in the OP or one shortly after.

Obviously this is what she wanted to do and I agreed because I won't where a watch. He knows she is selling it. He didn't where it either just maintained it.

Does it make any sound when the second hand is moving
As others said, they have replicas with movements that are difficult to distinguish. But even so, a mechanical watch still ticks when the balance wheel oscillates. It's just a much faster tick. The second hand appears to sweep with a smooth motion, but it's just comprised of many small "ticks" that happen quickly. If you listen to the watch, it's still going to "tick".
The OP should probably pony up for an appraisal anyway. If it's more than 4 or 5k, I'd add it to my jewelry insurance policy. Wouldn't cost much per year.

I'm sorry your Uncle FIL is dying... you should use the money from the Rolex to do something nice with your wife cousin.

You have over 1300 posts and you don't know how to post a pic?

Take that watch over to Vanderbilt and tell them you will donate it, if they teach you how to spell.

So much stupid in this thread. Typical. I ask a simple question and this board blows up without knowing anything about the situation. The watch meant nothing to him. Told the SO and I to go sell it. That's what we chose to do. Not trash , not a kid , and have much respect for the guy. No point in having something that valuable in the house. Would have to get insured and all that shite. He said sell it or wear it. Not wearing it. Wife said get rid of it. Make sense, idiots?

Must have been a nice engagement ring you purchased for the SO.

He's 100% healthy, thanks. He's also going with me today to attempt to sell it. Moron

Sorry. I'll be honest, when I saw "Bama" I just assumed "keep it in the family".

Took a look at a few of OP's previous threads. Seems like a smart guy actually

Charged with DUI (.08 TN). Convicted of DUI. Now have suspicion that the blood test did not reveal a .08 but a lower, legal bac. How, if possible, would one be able to look at test results after the fact. Who to ask, I guess.
ETA: No attorney present at court. fricked up and deserved more than the penalty given if guilty Imo.

Hypothetical. If you were 33 yrs old without a college degree and were starting over in life (career wise) what direction would you go? Best oppty to make a decent living w/out a college degree?

Well then, by all means go sell it.
It must be nice to not give a crap about a Rolex and just give it to someone that cares just as little about it.

Yeah I'm aware. Thanks. Phone changes it to where. I'm not writing a fricking term paper here.

Well then your FIL is an idiot too. He doesn't even realize how much of a significance the watch actually has to him. He obviously has no idea what this means and neither do you. You two should do like everyone else in the world should do and listen to every single word the OT says.
