Open containers are not allowed in Nashville.
Actually, I think you can now on Broadway.
Correction: Maybe I'm wrong. I remember something about allowing it on certain streets downtown near the convention center, but not sure if it includes lower Broad.

1) what's the open container law?
You can't have open in an auto.
You can do the following from 2015...
quote:
Governor Bill Haslam signed the so-called to-go cup bill at the end of April, meaning it will soon be legal to carry open containers of alcohol in certain parts of downtown Nashville. The law, which allows the alcohol to be carried on Fifth Avenue between Korean Veterans Boulevard and Demonbreun Street, goes into effect July 1. The aim of the measure is to allow people to carry alcohol as they walk within the area of the Music City Center, Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Omni Hotel.

Anywhere on Broadway will have good music. As far as open container law, I'm not
Lol no unless your idea of good music is bon jovi , 90's pop, and diamond rio covers
Try the basement or basment east, 3rd and lindsley, the high watt, 12th and porter, mercy lounge, city winery, the end, the east room, exit inn, station inn, the 5 spot, Foobar
Personal Faves:
Bella Nashville in the farmers market for pizza
The Tuck Special at Edleys for bbq
City House or Moto for italian
Americano for brunch
Le Sel for French
Kayne Prime for a steak
Jeni's for ice cream
Rolf and Daughters, Husk, or Josephine for an excellent meal
Pharmacy is pretty good for a burger. Burger republic and burger up are overrated to me but all three have good beer lists. If you want a good ole plain dive burger, head to browns diner. The revamped dinos is great for a burger at 2 in the morn.

So you're shitting on one of a handful of mainstream country artists who isn't a manufactured Nashville act? Makes sense.

Can't forget hot chicken.

Hot chicken is hattie b's for me. Princes is almost asgood but there are more people waiting for food than actually eating.

I like Bolton's actually. Almost never a long wait there.

Actually Tennessee doesn't have a state law against passengers drinking in cars. Cities can pass ordinances against it but the punishment is a small fine

Grab some BBQ from Jack's on Broadway, between 4th and 5th.
Seconded....Jack's is awesome. You can always go to Rippy's if you want to eat BBQ and drink.

No, I honestly have no idea who he/she is. Never heard the name. I'm about as out of touch with country music as it gets. I stopped listening to it in the early 90's because as a whole, it's pop garbage. Doesn't mean there isn't a real musician lurking around here and there, but you have to weed through too much shite to find them.
