Was only given local. Had 3 cut out. All I felt was pressure and fully expected to see part of my jaw attached to them when he pulled them. Bled for a few hours after. No big deal.

A fire started in the clinic just minutes before I was set to get put under for mine. Here's to yours not starting on fire while you're knocked out

This is gonna happen on top of you.

That was the day my dad realized I probably can handle more drugs than he cares to admit. They pumped me full of stuff, but not to put me under, just to make me out of it.
At the end they brought in a wheelchair and said I probably can't walk well or put coherent thoughts together for a few hours. I stood up, stretched, walked to the parking lot and was clear minded and they were all like "wtf".
Also, I partied in the Nola Red Dress Run the next day with a bottle of Demerol tucked into my dress and a chipmunk swelling on both my cheeks
Oh to be young and stupid.

Identical experience.

Still had two holes in my jaw a year later. Have fun.

Nurse or dental assistant had big boobs, and I spent most of the time trying to get a better look at them. Of course, I was 15 at the time, so hormones were surging. My mom drove me home and narrowly missed getting in a wreck. I took the prescribed pain medicine even though I had never taken any medicine at all to that point in my life. No aspirin, no Tylenol, nothing. Only vitamins. My folks were in a no-medicine religious cult--it's a long story. Anyway, the narcotic pain meds they gave me were much-needed and very enlightening. (4 wisdom teeth removed, 2 impacted).

Got the IV sedation for mine. I was out the moment the surgeon pushed the drugs in me. Next thing I remember is sitting in car on the drive back demanding McDonald's pancakes. Look down at my feet....and there is a McDonald's bag with pancakes. Waited the 2 hours, took gauze out and enjoyed my pancakes.

I bet your immune system was a beast though.

Strangely, I want to hear it. Start a new thread describing please.

Dr. Russell Westfall.
That man is gifted. He took mine out and 20 years later took my daughter's out.
Big ol' hands, but extremely gentle and talented.

All of these stories gave me a good laugh

I was told that getting wisdom teeth pulled was no big deal. However, I was out of work for 2 weeks and refilled my prescription for pain medication twice after I had mine. Talk about a miserable experience

Everyone is different. Impacted, not-impacted, # of teeth varies, recovery time varies, etc.
My sister was out of commission for a couple of weeks, took really good care of hers and still got dry sockets.
I was getting drunk in a dress on the french quarter the next day and never had any issues.
Same dentist.
