Are all of these statues in New Orleans?
Who has the time and money to take down all of the monuments listed? Obviously the NO Fire Chief does.

That is what eventually will level off growth. Lots of the young folk in the city will not want to permanently settle down in a place where costs go up every year, and you see absolutely zero return. Not to mention schools and crime.

No. I grew up around here so I know how to pronounce most of the streets.
I never knew this street existed until we were looking for houses. Everyonw pronounces it differently.

A fair amount of pro-monument people didn't go out to protest or whatever else we could do. I'm pro-monument, but we couldn't jeopardize our jobs, or businesses, or whatever that would have come our way. You know the TV news shows, the Advocate and Times-Picayune would have outed everyone and made their lives hell.
Well written
I've kept my mouth shut on social media for this sole reason

Yeah.. Just saw that. I just love hearing out of state people try to pronounce it.
What street? I always laugh at Burgundy and the way they accent the "gun" part.

No .They're a bunch of racist new black panther types and failed community agitators, with a smattering of confused college students. But Mitch has made a deal with the devil and temporarily allied himself with them on this matter Hope for his sake and ours that he can rein them in now that he's given them a pedestal for their lunacy.
This. I doubt he reins them in, and that's assuming he wants to.

They did tag the Joan of Arc statue with "tear it down".
Holy shite. I can't believe that's real.
Joan of Arc was French and fought against the English in like 1400.
How the in the ever-living frick is her statue racist?
Just proof that these assholes just want to watch the world burn...

shite is gonna get real if they try and take down Jackson square
Event hough it's been speculated that they will, I doubt it ever happens. Jackson died well before the Civil War so he was never part of the Confederate Army. Plus, he's the founder of the Democratic party so the liberals won't let that happen.

I think you give the fascists way too much credit.

This isn't about the civil war. When they started tagging fricking Joan of Arc, you know this has nothing to do with slavery, and has everything to do with European culture and/or White Guilt.

They came out and said that they weren't responsible for that one

There is no connection between the "Tear It Down" tag and the the Take Em Down NOLA organization, one of its leaders said. TED NOLA been most vocal among the opponents of the Confederate monuments as well as local school names, venues, streets and other statues honoring figures with ties to slavery. Malcolm Suber said TED members had nothing to do with the graffiti.
"Joan of Arc is not on our radar," Suber said.
