and i've had 3 encounters with black people around where i work this morning and all of them have been positive. Usually there is a bit of awkwardness that goes along with encounters over here around the Plank Road area but it's different now. It's almost as if we all know that what people want us to do is hate each other automatically but we're not falling for that bullshite. All 3 encounters were extremely positive. Talked about the weather, traffic. Nothing at all about all this other BS the media would lead us to believe exists.

On both sides, it is a very small portion of the particular population that cause all the crap.

I live in midcity br in a mixed neighborhood on the edge of the ghetto and I work downtown. Not once this week have I ever felt unsafe, unwelcome, or threatened in any way. Baton Rouge people are good people. These out of town agitators on the other hand...

I played softball yesterday against a team that was primarily black... they were nothing but fun and good sports all game. Nothing awkward at all, just general commiserating over how fricking hot it is.

I was checking out random Periscope feeds around BR looking for protest videos. The vast majority of black males from BR were all saying "frick a protest... that shite is dumb" (paraphrasing)

The fact this is all you talked about while the only thing you could think about was BLM shows there's still that awkwardness.

I heard one of them call you a honkey, as soon as you walked away.
