Yeah he has some reason for not doing direct deposit that doesn't make sense. I don't know, payroll is done in house and he thinks paper checks are easier.

This reminds me of a job application. I still have a copy.

When asked for any special skills, the applicant wrote: "I no payroll. I have great communication skills."

First time it's happened, that's really no big deal, just an honest mistake.

This. Wait till Monday afternoon to bring it up, giving him a chance to apologize and pay you first thing. If it comes to that, don't be angry or aggressive, just treat it like it was a mistake.

No reason to raise shite if you two have a good relationship. If it happens a second time, then get angry.

Small business owner here and we still do in house payroll paper checks (our employees are blue collar type and more than half cash their checks at the bank, same day). There is absolutely no excuse for an owner to "forget" to sign a check, and every effort should be made on his or her part to insure this never happens, i.e. office manager has authority to sign a check with owner approval, etc. .Curious to see how he responds to his screw up.

Your boss is probably not that concerned, not because he's inconsiderate, but rather because he assumes correctly that you're an adult not living paycheck to paycheck

And who the frick is he to assume anything about anyone's finances. The man shows up for work everyday and does the job he should get his money on time whether he "needs" it or not.

I always "need" my money when it's fricking due.

It really pisses me off when other people are so cavalier about the money they owe people.
