disagree big time, payroll is like a recurring bill, it must be paid, and paid on time, it's not up to the boss to decide that the employee is responsible and can wait for the money that is due them, pay is due at the scheduled payroll pay date, boss is irresponsible in this case

I used to work in payroll while I was getting my master's and people would lose it if they thought their check was even $5 short.
I work for the largest company in the world, in my field, if my employer accidentally over pays buy a penny, they will extract it from my account so fast that the vacuum affect in my bank makes all of the ties on the suits flutter

First you should bitch about it on a message board like most adults...
How bout you realize shite happens sometimes, get over it, and deposit your check Monday and move on.

First time it's happened, that's really no big deal, just an honest mistake.

Dude. If you are an accountant then you know it was a mistake. Quit being a bitch about it. Maybe you should join the protesters that are bitching about Trump. You sound like you'll fit right in.

Calm down man. I'm pissed because it was a clear oversight by my boss.
I also found out he wasn't on vacation he just took the day off and could have come by to sign checks like our office manager asked him to
I wasn't planning on causing a scene in the office. The question was more so whether I should just let it slide or let him know I'm pissed (civilly)

Did you even read where the OP addressed that very question baw?

It's careless of him to do that honestly. I am surprised he is still doing paper checks. I haven't had a paper check since 2002.

I'll sign it. How hard is this?
Posted on 11/11/16 at 8:44 pm to RJL2
I had fricking diarrhea, okay, but I told the secretary I was "taking the day off" without the nasty details.
I will sign your check first thing Monday morning. Come and see me at 9:00 a.m., And bring your personal items.

Just go in at whatever time you wish. If he says something about your job not being important enough for you to come in on time, them tell no he knows how it feels. Security may rough you up on the way out.

How can you work somewhere without direct deposit?

Seems to me that payroll fixed the glitch.
