I have tried over and over to drink coffee. I used to not need it because I was wide awake in the mornings but as i'm getting older (i'm 35 now) i'm seeing that i'm sluggish and just tired feeling for a few hours before I fully wake up.

Anyone out there been in this same situation? If so, what kind of coffee did you start out with that helped you appreciate the taste? I would rather make my own coffee at home so i'm not spending $5 at starfricks.

Columbian coffee is my preference. I like to grind the beans myself rather than buy pre ground coffee.

just get cheap coffee maker, folgers or some other mainstream brand, coffee and creamer, and go to town. No need for anything fancy

Straight black or you throw some creamer in there?

I've always like it, but there are tons of flavored stuff out there if you want something not as "strong" as regular coffee. Get a keurig and try different flavor pods.

I used to hate coffee unless it was filled with enough creamer to turn it light brown and then occasionally some sugar. When I decided to start trying to lose weight the only way it could be drank was black. Randomly bought someone at work a can of stuff I found at World Market and was told it was really good...so I tried it and have been drinking all coffee black since.

Lavazza Gold this is what I drink at home, but I rarely drink coffee at home now so it takes me 6 months to go through a can.

I don't drink coffee. I'd rather not have to rely on any type of substance to get through my day.

If it's just a taste issue then doctor it up with some refrigerated coffee mate. There are several great flavors.

I love coffee so I don't know if I can help. I started drinking it as a kid.

I might suggest a full flavored light roast, though. I find most light roasts to be bland and watery, same for original Dunkin Donuts (DD dark is much better). Maybe give a shot at Veranda or whatever the light is at Starbucks. It's 2 bucks for plain coffee, not 5. Still adds up, but worth it for the ease of trying decent coffee as a beginner (some douche will quickly tell you to pass on Starbucks and buy a conical grinder and Aeropress or something).

I prefer straight black but if you do not like coffee a lot some creamer (or milk) might help.

Do all coffee's have the same kind of taste or is there a big time noticeable difference between cheap and expensive coffee?

Black is the way to go. It'll taste like shite at first but once you get used to it the thought of putting cream/sugar in it never comes to mind. Plus it's healthier.

I'm going to try it tonight. In bed at 11:45pm for a midnight sleep and wake up at 7:30.

For the 15 minutes before sleep, am I allowed to play on ipad or do i just need to lay there?

Well Kopi luwak is (I believe) the most expensive coffee and it comes straight from a monkey's feces.

So my guess is it gets shittier as the price goes up.

I'm no coffee connoisseur or anything. I just buy the community ground coffee and call it a day. They have a few different flavors but if you put creamer in it like I do you can get it to taste however you want.

Sorry just looked it up, the most expensive actually comes from elephant crap, the monkey crap coffee is a bit cheaper.
