Just at CFA....no pics

Group of middle school cheerleaders....really no pics for the acreboys

Almost all of them were locked in on cell phones.

I don't get the need. I think peer pressure is running all of that.

They need them to beg mom for a ride since phone booths are basically extinct.

Parents got me one when I was in 7th because I'd always be out and about on my bike with friends. I can see the need for checking in purposes.

My kids don't drive and they both have cell phones so they can call when they need to talk to me or my wife.

A basic flip phone should be good enough until they can get a job and pay for their own things.

People of practically every age are "locked in on cell phones" these days. I'm locked in on mine right now.

where are they going that they would otherwise not have access to a phone? Why can't they borrow friend's parents phone to call you?

Global question....all these phones today assumed had data plans. If these are emergency phones, why need for data?

You serious?

What about when they're home alone and need to get in touch with one of us? We don't have a land line.

I mean, I still went out and about when I was a teenager before I could drive without direct parental supervision. I think once you make it to that age you should have a cell phone.

You do realize that a large percentage of homes have done away with landlines?

you serious? Land lines are dirt cheap and really are good when cell towers are down

Also, easy to have a dedicated "burner" cell that stays at house for just the scenario you noted

My son is 13 and he gets homework assignments via text, apps and email. He also snaps, emails and text with his teachers and coaches when he has questions. It's perfectly normal this day in age.

This might be one of the stupidest sequences of words I've ever seen

Cell phones are cheap too and they're more convenient.

I can call or text my kids whenever I need to talk to them and vice versa.

I can also track their every move.
