If you're buying a used truck, what is too used?

What year and mileage would be a stopping point. Is 2010 with 60k miles too old?

So I'm guessing I can't interest you in my 02 with 175k?

Heck no that's not to old. My dad's Toyota just passed 200,000 and he sold it for a good price and bought another one with close to 100,000. Enjoy the lower monthly note and invest that money into a Roth. No sense in having the best newest truck if you can't save for later.

It depends on a lot of factors. I bought a 1999 Silverado with close to 200k miles on it. Yes its well used but its my 3rd vehicle. I am also mechanically inclined and like to work on my own vehicles. Didn't make sense for me to spend thousands of dollars on a truck that will get used for a few thousand miles a year. If I was buying a daily driver I'd get something a little newer with less miles.

What's the stopping point for a reliable vehicle? Year? Mileage?

You're just getting started at 60k miles.

Again its different for everbody. I am mechanically inclined and keep my vehicles running smoothly. So anything under 10 years old I am comfortable riding for cross country trips. My wife drives a 2006 VW Jetta with 115k miles on it. Last year she had a 2004 Saturn Ion with the same amount of miles.

But generally speaking I think buying a car 3-4 years old and holding it for another 5-6 years would probably be the sweet spot.

Hold it right there..... NOPE!

Every Ford I have ever encountered had the same problem. They were made by FORD!

P.O.S.

ETA: Unless it's a diesel. I'll give it to Ford there. They make a good Diesel.

Here we go turning this thread into a Ford/Dodge/Chevy pissing contest.

As far as the question: No 60k is not bad at all for a 2010.
