If the U.S. Capitol had to be moved, where would you vote to move it?

Some ol baw on the Poli board started a thread about counties around D.C. Being too rich and powerful

D.C. Isn't exactly the best strategic location (without all the weapons protecting it) for a nations' capitol. If you're looking at things from an anti-invasion standpoint, it has major flaws.

So, given the choice, would you vote to have it moved? If so, to where? Or should it remain in D.C.?

I'd go with Omaha or Kansas City. While acknowledging that they're boring, those two cities border between two states and are centrally located between the lower 48. No accessibility from the ocean or Great Lakes, and not very much culcha of crime out there.

Why would you move the Capitol building from the capital?

Point Roberts, Washington so they'd leave us alone.

I wouldn't move either of the 3 major branches.

I would move almost everything cabinet level and below out to almost every capital city in the country though. Dept of Education, Dept of Homeland Security, EPA, IRS, etc. That does not need to be in DC.

In addition, there are hundreds of bullshite 800-1000 person agencies that don't actually need to be in Washington DC either.

You're not very familiar with KC or Omaha to say there isn't much "culcha".

Right next to the SEC offices, of course. That would fix all of the corruption...

You're right, but they can't possibly compare to culcha in the south and in places like Philly or D.C.
