If global warming is happening, why was it way hotter earlier this century?

Shouldn’t we be seeing record high temps year after year?

Here’s the record high temps by decade for Lafayette, LA. Click on this link and change the city to your location, then scroll to the bottom of the page and post a pic of the record high temp days per decade. extreme weather watch.com

Bad instruments and data collection?

Or just lack of data so everything is a record

there's always some degree of fluctuation, now the real question is what is the average temperature over the past decade vs the decade before and the decade before that?

If its upward, we got issues.

Global warming is very much real but it isn't man made. The earth has went through warming and cooling periods throughout all of history. We just happen to be in a warming trend right now. Middle 1800's the world was in a cooling trend.

1300s-1800s is called the little ice age. We are warming back up to normal.

Our data is only from 1880s-1890s up to today. Conveniently right at the end of the little ice age.

You’re not doing climate science correctly. When you find data that doesn’t support global warming, that’s bad data so throw it out. TA DA! Global warm..er, climate change!

Who cares, maybe climate change is cyclical? I can believe the earth is getting warmer, at least for a while, without buying in to Al Gore's BS. Just don't tell me it's not hot AF right now. Denying that this heat is unusual pisses me off.

I'm touchy because I have heat stroke.

The best part of anytime they say “It’s the hottest week on Earth”, we’re back in the high 90s here, when it’s 108 the week before and after.

We are. But if you are expecting to set record high temps every year everywhere on the globe, we would be underwater within a decade. It would be a true emergency, drop everything else and fix this problem right now if we were seeing what you seemingly expect.

To your data, though, the fact that we are still setting records after having set so many in prior decades means we are still warming up. Does that make sense to you?

I think too many people get caught up in whether its man- made or natural causes.

I think it’s both . And we should plan accordingly.

If you consider a closed garage and a running car: you get carbon monoxide poisoning.

If you think of earth as a “closed system” ( which is it within the atmosphere) , and you consider that there are over a billion vehicles in the whole: then at some point will reach an unhealthy threshold of carbon monoxide within the atmosphere.
