If fast food restaurants didn't exist, would you be any healthier?

I eat fast food too damn much. Fortunately, I was blessed with good genetics and it's hard for me to put on weight, but I have seen a slight weight gain in the past 6 months.

I'm thinking about buying a mini fridge for my office, because I'm too damn lazy at night to pack my lunch.

Plate lunches probably do more damage to my diet than fast food.

It would eliminate probably 80% of the fried food that I eat annually. I rarely eat unhealthy at home or in nicer restaurants.

inb4 food board

Remember, we are all OT Doctors/Nutritionists so whatever each of us say is absolutely 100% accurate.

With that being said, I don't think it's so much what we eat, but the portions of what we eat. Obviously, smaller portions of healthy items are better than smaller portions of unhealthy, but at the end of the day I think portion control is the biggest factor in weight fluctuation.

At times in my life yes. But currently, no. I dont eat fast food at all. Im kind of in a groove. I eat the same exact thing everyday, as it is easy, and is helping me reach my goals. Once you break the conception that food is an experience it becomes very easy.

Wouldn't affect my daily routine, but I'd definitely be eating healthier at 2 a.m.

Been cutting out fast food for a little while now, and while the results have been good, I find myself noticing all the fast food commercials on TV way more than I did before. Seems like every other commercial is for McD's, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc. That damn sugar addiction is no joke.

If fast food restaurants didn't exist I probably wouldn't be alive right now.

sugar (including starchy foods) and processed foods (including too much processed fat products--polyunsaturated and of course trans) in any form are bad. doesn't matter how fast they were prepared and served.

You have the skinny gene. Skinny =/= healthy. Skinny people usually don't know their arteries are clogged until it's too late.

how much we eat is directly related to what we eat. sugar/starch don't satiate, so we eat more. when i went high-fat/low-carb, I found it very easy to stay under 1500cal day (at 6' and on the 9-month plummet from 210 to 165). Very. not even a thought now.

It's been a while since I last had fast food. I think the only time I have had it in the past 6 months was when I went to Taco Bell and In N Out Burger when I was in Las Vegas.

You can still eat fast food and be healthy/lose weight. As with everything, its all about keeping track of how much food you put into your body.

i had a giant plate of pulled pork (used just a little mustard-based sauce to cut the inevitable restaurant sugar), salad w blue cheese, collard greens with just pepper sauce, and slaw, unsweet tea. Skipped the bread. Didn't feel remotely tired.

i know there was some added sugar at this place, but the fat, protein, complex carbs, and fiber overwhelmed it.

it's the sugar that makes you tire. insulin reaction.
