Start looking at CPOed lease return BMWs. Find one you like for $30k and buy it. frick a god damn accord. 300hp is shite with a slushy transmission and tons of body roll.

Someone could say, "I want a new car, and only a new car, for under $30k, that is American or Asian made, and what I really don't want is a BMW," and Gaston would say, "Baw, get you a good used BMW, baw."
I love the persistence.

I bought a new loaded Camry and hated every second of it. When it was time to replace it with a new ~$30k car I drove all of the competitors...and you know what, they're all Camrys. Buy and maintain a nice German built auto and you'll get off the cycle of buying shitty cars every 6 or 7 years.
It's an opinion, and that's what we're here to share. One data point.

leftover 14 or preferably 15 Dodge Challenger RT
15 Mustang 5.0(if you don't have any kids)
You're young, gets something that's fun to drive. Nothing like the torque of an American v8

If I'm buying a brand new car it'll be something like a Subaru that is incredibly safe and will last me long after it's been paid off. I'm also not the type to need a new vehicle every few years.

get used with 30k miles, save $4k
That's what I usually recommend, and you could save well more than that
But I won't ever knock someone for wanting a brand new car like others do on here, spend your money how you want to

Get it with the manual transmission and have some fun.

I've got an 07 tundra with 120k on it that I'll have until it dies.

was actually looking at the v6 accord....think it has damn near 300hp
Most V6's these days are pushing 300hp

new cars are the dumbest way to spend your money. you're just throwing away half the value when you go to sell it.
That hasn't been true for 20 years.

Really like the WRZs, but driving manual in heavy traffic every day would get annoying.

so you've bought a $30k car and sold it for $30k? please tell me your secret
Posted on 5/6/15 at 10:22 pm to TH03
If you're the type of person to do something like that then I don't think a new car is necessarily a terrible investment, especially if you feel like the upgrades are worth it. If you buy a new car and want to sell it a couple of years later, yeah you probably made a bad choice.
