I know nothing about toy RC cars but today I played with my nephew's and I'm hooked and want to get one for myself. Is this a good one to start off with? - LINK
You should notice on Amazon that there a bunch of those trucks and truggys being sold under diferrent names and manufacturers(Amosting, Hosim, Bot Toys) but they are all the same. Just go with the cheapest one. Like I said in my earlier psot I only paid 59.99 for mine that is the same as the one they are selling for 84.99.

There is extensive parts list in the manual. Most of them can be found at Amazon. From what I hear the transmission gears go out pretty fast in these trucks. I've run mine for about 30 minutes twice a week for about 3 months and had no problems. The motor does get extremely hot though.

I was extremely skeptical that a RC truck for 59.99 could perform the way this one does but this is not like the crappy RC toys they sell at Walmart. The steering and throttle is not as responsive as more expensive models but it goes like a bat out of hell and is pretty tough.

I had a Golden Arrow in the 80's, from RadioShack. I loved that thing, wore out two sets of rear wheels

In the 90s, toys r us had a glass section of fairly expensive and cool looking rc cars. The last time I was there they didn't have it any more. I never got one for Christmas, naturally.

I remember that section. They did have some nice cars in there. It too bad all they sell now is mostly overpriced junk.

The brushed Titan motor will do 34mph.
Brushless is insane and this model is brushless-ready with metal gears.
