We had an outdoor cat. A stray we took in back in Texas. He would come in sometimes but basically was an outdoor cat. When we moved toi Illinois the moving van and activity spooked him. He ran off and we had to leave him. Two days later my neighboor called to say he returned. I made a trip down. Scooped him up. (He didn't travel well so =11 hours of terror in a car). We get to Illinois and he adjusted pretty fast. Pretty soon he was whacking rabbitts and birds left and right. Rabbits are a problem here. He became an instant neighbor celebrity. All the neighbors knew and loved him. He was badass. He lived large for about a year and disappeared. A coyote likely got him. I miss that cat alot.

I would give anything to see a head of a rabbit or a bird wing by the door again. I am a dog person but you have to admitt cats are cool.

We have three cats at my house. A few years ago they (developers- not the cats) were clearing out the old Kleinpeter farm property to make a new neighborhood and those felines were going hog wild. The development was sending tons of field mice scattering and my family was treated to hundreds of mice left on our doorstep over the course of a few months.

On the rare occasion they bring down a pigeon, I'll find them fricking with it, letting it stay alive for hours and taking shots at it. Cats are some vicious little shits.
