Reading this article in The Advocate reminded me of how I couldn't imagine being scared to walk outside in my own neighborhood at night, for fear of some hoodrat popping off stray rounds.

LINK

quote:

Neighbor Nikki Davis, 36, was home with her elderly disabled mother, her two children, ages 11 and 5, and her 4-year-old niece when she heard several shots. She said she first thought they were firecrackers because some people had shot some off on Tuesday night.

She was taking out the trash when she heard them, but then said she quickly ran inside and moved her family to safety.

"When it consistently kept going I knew it wasn't firecrackers so I moved my kids where they needed to be," Davis said. "This is not my first rodeo with gunfire. So I know when I hear gunfire you move."

She said it's been a while since there was a fatal shooting in the area, but she was concerned for her family when she heard the shots.

"What if something would've happened to us? Who would've helped my momma?" Davis said.

It'll take a revolution from people like Nikki to turn this tide around. Until then, FGC, Broome, and other race baiters will run the narrative and glorify criminals, when the good people stuck in the middle of ghetto trash violence are the true victims.

I do as well, but only to a degree. Their culture glorifies criminals, denigrates cops, accepts a 75% illegitimacy rate, and consistently votes for race baiting "community organizers"

Until they take at least some responsibility (along with liberalism) for their situation, my sympathy is limited.

This only starts to get better with more self-policing. It's hard to be a snitch but people need to take a stand against this crap if they truly are sick of living in that shithole. Much like Islam, people who speak out will be harmed but if they do indeed want reformation, it is necessary. Also, the fact that over 70% of blacks are born out of wedlock is a very serious issue that needs to be solved. Solving that alone will reduce crime drastically.

I grew up in NBR. Hard to believe what has happened over the last 30 years. Drove through the old neighborhood last summer with my mother. We were both stunned to say the least.

I managed and owned property in NBR until I gave up. What killed NBR is children having kids and raising those kids who have kids. There is no moral compass when you see a 5 year old running the streets at night because the mother his higher than a kite. Some families the grandmother, mother, and soon to be mother are all on drugs. The kids never had parents they are basically raised on their own. Then you have their boyfriends coming over beating the crap out of their great grand mother, grand mother, or mama. Mix that in with drug houses and you got a perfect storm of disfunction. The mailmen or women in this area are harrassed that is the lowest of the low. Hey why don't we play our music loud and dance even though we are on disability? It seems that those people can work if they can dance and act like thugs outside.

The sad part are the people who are older and bought their places to retire cannot enjoy their retirement because of Gravy Chambers followers that destroyed these areas. They are the ones that suffer not Gravy Chambers followers who cause the problem.

When NBR was a nice middle class area and the businesses were opening up the area had a lot of commerce, blue collar jobs, and was growing.
Is it middle class whitey and middle class blacks who built the area up or Gravy Chambers followers fault that did nothing but destroy the areas fault that NBR is war zone?

When I first moved to BTR I didn't know any better, and I moved into a rental off of N Foster. I never went outside after sunset, and adjusted my schedule to where I was home before 5:30. I got out of there as soon as my car was broken into. Got out of my lease due to me being scared to live there. It really is a war zone. #MallCitySon

This x1000

One of my black friends told me his mom told him to vote Democrat no matter what. That's one of the things that is frustrating about the black community. They blindly follow people who have no allegiance to them and don't care about them once the vote is cast.

70 percent of the people there are truly great people. 10 percent are opportunists who would maybe not do the right thing if the situation presented itself and they thought they could get away with it. The last 10 percent are true heathens and there is no changing them.... they will go out of their way to be criminals.

Last I checked, this was America? You feel sorry for people not exercising their freedom to work, live, and play anywhere they choose?

That's dumb as frick, but let's not act like the black ghettos somehow improve under republicans.

It's the working people and the people doing their best to raise a family that I feel sorry for. Working black people don't want that shite in their neighborhood any more than anyone else but not everyone can just pick up and leave.

That's only 90%. At least it isn't 60%.

This is the issue at the heart of "white privilege." Black children in many areas are fricked over from jump street. That doesn't mean white folks are to blame, but when a significant portion of a race is born into such a pitiful situation, it's not difficult to understand why the cycle is so hard to break.

He's got a point. Neither side really cares about cleaning up ghettos and helping these people.
